Dr Jenny Tillotson FRSA PHD (RCA)
Jenny Tillotson is the founder of eScent® a new low carbon wearable device which is capable of dispensing minute doses of perfume in response to a timer or stimulus i.e. sensor (acoustic or biometric). As an award winning design researcher and mental health campaigner, Jenny is recognised as one of the leading innovators in the hybrid of science, technology, fashion communication and scent. Her work explores the expanding frontier of smell communication in wearable technology for health, wellbeing and fashion. She is a Visiting Scholar in the Dept of Chemical Engineering & Biotechnology at the University of Cambridge, a member of Cambridge Neuroscience, Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts, Fellow of the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust, an Associate of the British Society of Perfumers and a STEM Ambassador. Jenny holds a degree in Fashion from Central Saint Martins and a PhD in Printed Textiles from the Royal College of Art. She has exhibited internationally, published in biomedical and design journals and worked with industry including IFF, Philips, NIKE, Unilever, Cambridge Consultants, The North Face and Adeline André.
Jenny has won numerous AHRC awards and fellowships including a ‘FiFi’ (Fragrance Foundation UK) nomination award for breakthrough progress in the fragrance industry.
