‘The Vulgar’ - a unique and acclaimed fashion exhibition previously shown at The Barbican Art Gallery in London and at the Winterpalais in Vienna - is now on display at Modemuseum Hasselt. The exhibition is curated and designed by Judith Clark around 12 new definitions of the word 'Vulgar' by psychoanalyst Adam Phillips. Enter into a dialogue around ‘Too Much’, ‘Showing Off’ and ‘Extreme Bodies’ as well as historical costumes, couture and ready-to-wear fashion, including creations of Louis Vuitton, Walter Van Beirendonck, Givenchy, Christian Dior, Karl Lagerfeld for Chloé, Prada, Vivienne Westwood as well as added looks from the museum’s collection.
