The Wellcome Collection presents for the fist time the works of contemporary artists Martina Amati, Daria Martin, Maria McKinney and John Walter, created together with scientists to explore what lies beneath, beyond and between. Their works question what it means to be human in the 21st Century as well as underline the importance to collaborate to find solutions and challenge perspectives. The artists have each integrated research from the fields of neuroscience, physiology, immunology and genetics. The subjects range from synaesthesia to cattle breeding, free diving to HIV.
Each project shares a desire to give shape to things that are elusive and intangible, and to incorporate the human experience at the heart of these complex ideas.
